ROTARY DRUM SEPARATOR
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: ROTARY DRUM SEPARATOR FOR ABRASIVE RECOVERY
The Drum Separator is an integral part of the abrasive recovery system, designed to separate reusable abrasive materials from foreign debris—such as welding rods and slag—before transferring the clean abrasive to the storage hopper.
How It Works
Abrasive materials enter the Drum Separator via a chute connected to the discharge outlet of the bucket elevator. Inside the unit, a rotating metal shaft delivers the material into a perforated Drum Screen. As the drum rotates:
- Large foreign materials are ejected through an outlet at the rear of the body.
- Abrasive particles small enough to pass through the drum screen openings descend in a curtain-like flow into the Air Wash Dust Collector.
- Air suction then separates fine dust from the abrasive, drawing dust into the collector while allowing only reusable abrasive to fall into the storage hopper.
Key Components
- Inlet Hopper – For loading abrasive materials
- Metal Shaft – Conveys material through the separator
- Drum Screen – Separates reusable abrasive from foreign materials
- Air Wash Dust Collector – Removes dust via air suction
